Afternoon guys. Welcome to my
first blog ever, I must certainly admit that it never really came to my mind that
one day I’d be triggered or rather inspired to create "MY OWN BLOG" yep, this is just one of those new overwhelming experiences life brings, like they say life is a jungle its either you adapt or die . However in my deepest and honest opinion. I earnestly believe that social media has by far placed a new,exiting and risky platform for people, companies and brands to consciously present themselves as loyal, transparent and of good character(to which all this leads to one thing "the so called global village). Anyways enough about social media lets talk PR. Friends have you ever had any difficulties with really understanding the real essence behind PR, what PR is and how to study PR, "what a nerve-wrecking experience it is! well all this can be summarised through just five simple steps. Learn them to be wise, remember them to be unique and practise them to be successful.
FIVE SIMPLE TIPS ON HOW TO STUDY PUBLIC
RELATIONS.
Tip no: 1. Observe your
environment

Ask yourself this :
- why do people behave the way they do?.
- why are certain brands more popular than other brands?
- why are some companies preferred than others than others?
- what makes a person famous?
Tip no: 2. be informed and alert
one must at all times be informed about new trends, breaking news, and "hot" issues taking place in ones society, community and environment ,this may be achieved by reading, newspapers, on line magazines,engaging in social media e.g tweeter and face book. This will greatly assists you to be up to date and becoming an active citizen rather than just being a spectator of events.

Tip no: 3. Build networks with persons who are already in industry.
strive by all means to have or establish contact with relevant people in the industry, this will help you merge your academic knowledge with the direct practical knowledge of those in industry to which this will greatly assists you to learn and know more about the essence of PR.

Tip no: 4 Share your own worldviews with others and be open to new ideas.
Begin to share your worldviews with other, at the same time critically compare how other worldviews and opinions match or differs from your own. This will help you to have a better understanding and experience on how to be open and accepting to new opinions and ideas. Public relations is mainly based on serving other, in order to do so one has to adopt their views and opinions.

Tip no:5.Attend PR campaigns and seminars.
One should regularly attend PR events and seminars in order to gain more insight and knowledge about changes in the industry /field. This will equip you to be more competent and greatly knowledgeable about PR.

I must say this Is by far a pro-found reading especially to the prospective students and organisations who are not knowledgeable about and do not recognise the importance of this profession which is PR .As a PR student I find PR interesting as it is a crucial component for any organisation to be employ and utilise. PR function is a function used to monitor and understand perceptions made by the public and the environment that the organisation operates from and I believe that communication has a way to stabilize the reputation of the organisation even in cases whereby unforeseen circumstances are likely to occur.
